Ezekiel Elliott has a Super feeling about the Giants.
When asked Friday about where he might want to land in this April’s NFL Draft, the prized Ohio State running back didn’t hesititate.
“That would definitely be a great spot for me,” Elliott said on Fox Sports South’s “The Panel,” via Giants Daily. “I can see it now: Eli, Odell and then me − that’s a three-headed monster right there.
“I think we’d give everyone a run for their money. I think we could go win a Super Bowl pretty early.”
Talk about confidence.
But remember the Giants have Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen, Andre Williams and Orleans Darkwa, who each have a “unique skill set,” according to offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan.
CATCHING ON
For two seasons at LSU, Adam Henry coached Odell Beckham Jr. And when Beckham headed onto the NFL, Henry, who landed a job as 49ers receivers coach last year, paid close attention to his former student.
But Henry — the Giants’ new wide receivers coach — didn’t see Beckham’s blow-up against the Carolina Panthers last season. He does know that the youngster can be “emotional,” he said, and yes, he said, he’ll work to help his young star harness that emotion.
“He’s always had some emotion,” Henry said. “He’s always played with some desire. You take special teams (at LSU) and special teams he’ll take the kickoff run (in practice) all the way 100 yards.”
Henry added that he does not believe he was hired solely to coach Beckham. The Giants have a young collection of receivers, and Henry worked with a similar unit in San Francisco.
